Accelerators are important tools for research in many disciplines of natural sciences and for applications in medicine and industry. In this course we will focus on the basic technology of accelerators. You will be given pictures of different kinds of accelerators and explained how they work. We will put an emphasis on accelerators for synchrotron radiation. The course moves here hand in hand with
MAXM06 (Introduction to Synchrotron Radiation Based Science).
In the course we will also treat Free Electron Lasers (FEL), where accelerators, synchrotron radiation and lasers are brought together into a light source of the future.
The course is given as a part of the Master's degree in Science, with a
major in Synchrotron Radiation Based Science.
Entrance qualifications
For admission to the course requires general entry requirements and 90 credits in science or technology.
